An end and a beginning

I've been on a long break from Pike/Pine. Two years of hunting for fashion photos had taken its toll, and the months away gave me time to consider what I wanted to do next.

After a lot of thought, I've decided it's time to end Pike/Pine to in order to start a new project, Face Like a Blessing, where I'll photograph the faces that catch my eye. Some will be friends, some strangers, some fashionable, some not - it'll be a slightly different focus from Pike/Pine, but I hope just as interesting and enjoyable for you and me.

Many thanks to all the readers here, to the people who have let me photograph them, and to the friends I've found through doing this.

The owner of an excellent men's boutique in Copenhagen called Goods. His style reflected a subtle attention to fit and quality that was matched by the clothing in the store. His shirt was by a British company called Folk and had wonderful little details, like the tiny stitched F-O-L-K letters in the pattern:

Pike/Pine on hiatus

I'll be back in New York this week for a couple days before heading out on vacation to Helsinki, Copenhagen, Berlin, and Zurich. I have high hopes for the street fashion in these cities and will be on the lookout for photos to share when I'm back in early October.
